The Story Behind the CD "Unfailing Love"


Back in March 2008, the Lord had moved me to start recording an English worship CD with songs written from the book of Psalms. By a series of circumstances, I had gotten back in touch with a Christian college friend of mine named Pat Mason earlier that year. He had relocated back to Maryland after being away for several years. I’d discovered that he has a home recording studio! This was good news, considering that the recording studio I’d previously used for my CD “Lord, Revive Us” went out of business in 2007. So that’s how we got started.

Even though God had opened a way for me to record again, we’d encountered a number of trials during the 20 months of working on this project. We had many late nights. Twice, the computer hard drive where the recordings were stored almost crashed, and months of hard work were in danger of being wiped out. One time, we found a leak in the basement where the recording equipment was set up, and we spent nearly an hour cleaning up the mess. Thank God the equipment was safe!

I also saw many of God’s blessings on this project as well. Pat was so passionate about this project and sacrificed more time than I did to make this CD the best it could be. Some of our college friends called in or dropped in for surprise visits while we were working (you know who you are!). Several new co-workers came on board to help with this recording project, along with some returning musicians from the previous CD. My family and Christian friends continued to lend their support, encouragement, and prayers. Truly, it was great working with good friends!

Lastly, God had brought in the finances needed to produce this CD. My business account only held a few hundred dollars when we first started, but we had no debt after the CD production was done. At least 3 times during the recording, God had moved people to donate the exact amount of money needed for certain ministry expenses, without my asking them! Several brothers and sisters had given to cover the rest of the ministry expenses, being prompted by the Lord. Indeed God loves a cheerful giver!
